He/Him

Brian Lohmann (he/him) is a coach who specializes in public presentation skills: tailoring story, crafting language, presence coaching and team building. He joined the leadership development faculty at SEIU in 2002 and has continuously taught since then for programs like the Institute for Change, The New Strength Unity Institute and the BOLD Center. In addition to coaching and consulting, Brian has written and performed special material at SEIU conventions and retreats. He has also been an executive coach for the United Food and Culinary Workers Union. Brian was a rehearsal and dialogue coach for Francis Ford Coppola on Bram Stroker’s Dracula and “JACK,” where he coached Robin Williams. He has toured original one-person shows in Australia, acted Off-Broadway and in regional theater. He is an award-winning stage director (Los Angeles) and has taught in graduate programs and at universities around the country. His essays on Shakespeare have been included in two anthologies by Peter Lang publishing. His practice is grounded in principles and skills learned during his four decades as a professional performer, producer, acting teacher, writer, musician, improviser and director. Brian is based in Northern California where he works for BATS Improv, a theatre company he co-founded in 1986. His album of ironic, original jazz standards, “The One and Lonely, Johnny Lonely,” is available on Bandcamp. He is a proud union member of Actor’s Equity and SAG-AFTRA.
