Laura Shmishkiss (she/her) is a white, Jewish woman who is committed to dismantling racism and all other interconnected forms of oppression that live within ourselves and the world. She brings 25 years of experience as an executive leader, facilitator, coach, educator and activist in both nonprofit organizations and schools.Â
In her consulting practice, Laura supports her clients in building equitable, transformative communities where all people thrive. She specializes in antiracism training; leadership coaching; equity-centered facilitation; organizational culture development; program and curriculum design; and EDI strategic planning. She also works with white-identified people who are seeking to deepen their skill and resilience to engage in long-term antiracism practice.Â
Laura brings an intersectional, anti-racist lens to her practice and integrates healing-centered approaches that acknowledge impacts of systemic oppression. As a healing practitioner and herbalist, she invites clients to reconnect to their whole, authentic selves through an integrated relationship with their minds, bodies, spirits and the natural world.Â
Laura earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Colby College, and a teaching certification from San Francisco State University. She also earned a coaching certification through the International Coaching Federation.
