Mariko Yoshioka

She/Her

Mariko is an organizer, facilitator and coach with a passion for collaborating with other changemakers, leaders, organizations and communities to co-create healing and transformative experiences. She takes a whole-person approach to coaching and leadership development. She encourages and supports leaders to show up as their most powerful, authentic selves while honoring their own wellbeing and humanity. Drawing on her own lived experience as a biracial queer woman and changemaker, Mariko brings compassion, grace, curiosity, and connection to her coaching practice.


Mariko has nearly 13 years of experience in the labor movement, serving in multiple roles, including attorney, organizer, field coordinator, and organizational development director. She has extensive experience in leadership development and is particularly passionate about supporting new and emerging leaders of color who are navigating challenging organizational hierarchies and power structures. As a member of her local’s organizational equity and inclusion committee for 6 years, she developed and facilitated OEI programming for both members and staff, including individual and group anti-racism coaching for white leaders, organizers, and supervisors. She has experience supporting identity-based affinity groups (caucuses), including setting up and facilitating cohorts for women and gender-expansive leaders of color stepping into new leadership roles within their union.


Mariko is an active member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) with more than 20 years of professional experience working with nonprofit organizations, social services providers, and labor unions. She received her undergraduate degree from Denison University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Oregon. She earned her ICF-accredited professional coaching certificate from Blooming Willow’s Healing Centered Coaching program. Mariko and her wife currently reside in Eugene, Oregon with their two cats, Gandalf and Tonks.
