Jennifer Epps-Addison J.D., has spent the last 25 years leading justice-centered campaigns and
organizations. Her work is rooted in community organizing, cultivating winning strategies and
advancing systems-change campaigns to transform our world and create the conditions where
we all have the freedom to thrive.
Jennifer is the Founder and Chief Imagineer at Synergy Power Consulting, a coach-collaborator
consulting firm supporting the next generation of social change leaders. Her work has been
featured in hundreds of earned media stories, across dozens of platforms, networks, and
publications.
Prior to founding Synergy Power Consulting, Jennifer served as the President and
Co-Executive Director of the Center for Popular Democracy and CPD Action, a $30+ million
dollar national network of grassroots power building organizations operating with more than
100 staff working across 120 cities and 34 states throughout the country.
Epps-Addison has focused her entire career on helping to make a better world possible for all
of us. Over the last 25 years, she served as the Chief Program Officer for the Liberty Hill
Foundation, a social justice foundation in Los Angeles, helped coordinate the Fight for $15
campaign as the Executive Director of Wisconsin Jobs Now, and fought to transform the
criminal legal system as a Trial Attorney at the Milwaukee Public Defender's Office.
Epps-Addison is the recipient of the 2013 Edna Award from the Berger-Marks Foundation,
which honors an outstanding young woman each year for her leadership in fueling social change.
In the same year, she was named an 'Activist to Watch' by Bill Moyers. She earned her BA in
Political Science and Women's Studies and her JD from the University of Wisconsin.
Jennifer sits on the Boards of Directors for the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center, United For
Respect, Be A Hero Fund, Re:Power, Step Up Louisiana, the Forge, an online journal dedicated
to organizing strategy and practice, and the Action Lab, a movement retreat and leadership
development center.
Epps-Addison, a leader who has deep experience building power in communities from the
ground up, founded Synergy Power Consulting at a time when local community voices matter
more than ever in creating a nation-wide movement to fight for dignity and opportunity for all
people.
She brings with her a commitment to supporting and growing racial justice organizations,
especially Black-Led organizations, strengthening investments in power-building efforts in
BIPOC communities and deepening organizing strategies that build power with the white
working-class by addressing racism head-on and building authentic alliances based on shared
interests and shared values.
